Talbot House
Talbot House
Filey
With a town centre location, Talbot House is ideally situated and provides everything a family would need away from home. Talbot House is a 3-bedroom, detached, self-catering property and an ideal base to explore Filey. The property boasts a private drive and private parking for three vehicles. There is a large garden with a patio/seating area and a large lawned area, so there’s something for *everyone* to enjoy, young and old.
The well-maintained property sleeps six people and has three bedrooms. One has an ensuite bathroom, a family bathroom, and a downstairs WC. There is a large open-plan kitchen/dining area and an outdoor dining space for those al fresco meals, British summer permitting!
The property’s main living area has a 43” Samsung 4K smart TV, a sound bar that doubles as a Bluetooth speaker and a Playstation console (PS3) with 10+ games and DVD/Blu-ray playback facilities. There is Wi-Fi, which provides 35 Mbps+ for all your streaming needs throughout the property.
The master bedroom has a wall-mounted Smart TV as well as terrestrial channels.
The kitchen/dining area has a large fridge-freezer, complete with a water chiller. The kitchen also has a washing machine, electric fan oven, four-ring gas hob and a microwave. All cooking utensils, pots, pans, plates, cutlery and glasses are provided.
Freshly washed bed *linen* is provided; we just ask that you bring your own towels when you stay with us.
The house bathroom, ensuite with walk-in shower and the downstairs WC ensure that there are ample facilities to accommodate a house full of people.
Well-trained dogs are permitted within the property on the understanding that they always remain downstairs and are not left unattended in the property *unless in a crate*. If they use the garden, please ensure that you clean up after your dog if required.
The location of the house means that it is ideal for accessing all the local facilities and amenities. Within the immediate locality, you can access Filey train station and the large Tesco supermarket, numerous cafes and take away food outlets (approximately 2 minutes on foot); Filey town centre (approximately 4 minutes on foot); Filey beach and Filey country park (approximately 5 minutes on foot); and the promenade and local attractions (10 minutes).
There are many walks in and around Filey, both coastal and inland. Filey Brigg is an interesting rocky outcrop to the north of the town. Access to this headland is either along the path at the top, from which there are spectacular views to the north and south, or via the beach. You will require sturdy footwear, whichever you choose, and some care is required to negotiate eroded ground. If you keep a close eye on the tide times and have the stamina, you can time your walk to the end of the Brigg, where there are some amazing views and the opportunity to see some spectacular wildlife.
You can extend the walk further if you are feeling energetic by heading north along the Cleveland Way.
Filey is also an ideal base to explore the Yorkshire coast and the wider county. Notable local attractions and resorts include RSPB Bempton Cliffs, Bridlington, Scarborough, Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay and the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.
